His graduate work applied machine learning to problems in convective storm cell classification (MSc 1999) and\u00a0exploratory data analysis of\u00a0\u00a0functional magnetic resonance imaging studies (fMRI) (PhD 2007).<\/div>\n<div>He is the author of a number of technical conference and journal papers and is named as inventor on several patents. Mark has initiated and\u00a0participated in multiple grant-based academic collaborations on engineering topics.
